Stretch of the Day

Tight hips? Besides being uncomfortable, it can lead to back pain. When your flexors are tight you will have a tendency to lean forward while squatting. A forward lean will shift your center of gravity anteriorly and increase activation of your quadriceps while decreasing activation of your glutes. As a result, when you stand up your flexors are going to stay shortened, which will contribute to an anterior pelvic tilt and make it really difficult to adequately activate the posterior hip muscles. Basically, you need to stretch!!

#TrainingWithKeisy x Fitspot x Muscle Milk x Mail Chimp

Teamed up with Fitspot & Muscle Milk for an opportunity to lead a bootcamp for this amazing company called Mail Chimp. I use them for my email blasts to clients, and was ecstatic to be able to work with them. They were a great group of down to Earth individuals, and it was a complete pleasure. We thoroughly had a good time, and I was able to provide them with a fun, yet challenging experience. It really put things into perspective for me because although they’re not a fortune 500 company, they’re decently reputable and respected. It’s definitely a personal accomplishment within itself.

Leg & Glute Inspo

Leg & Glute exercises you may not be doing !! 🙂

1. Cling & Romanian Deadlift Combo
These are exhaustingly amazing. Technically they’re two different work outs but are effortlessly combined as shown. Eh, I take back effortlessly. Being that this is a compound movement, your whole body will reap the benefits. I did say exhausting right? But the good kind. Form is most important so I definitely suggest taking baby steps if you’re unfamiliar with the motion. Gotta start somewhere right? Start with the bar and work your way up to a comfortable, yet challenging weight. Plant those feet and focus that weight in your heels, maintain a flat/straight back and always keep your chest up. In life, but especially when performing this exercise to avoid injury. Safety first.

Fitness FAQ

My Top 5 FA(Fitness)Q

1. What do you like about working out?

A: I didn’t always. I reluctantly started for aesthetic purposes. Mainly because I wanted a bigger butt. (Haha) but after consistently putting in the work, and seeing the results, I got hooked. What I love most about fitness is the transformational opportunities we are ALL capable of. Mentally and physically. It has taught me discipline, and patience. It’s also a damn good stress reliever if you ask me.

Ab Circuit

Alil sauna Ab action.

Top: Bicycle crunches.
-Try to bring your elbow to the opposite knee and alternate.

Middle: Side plank with oblique crunch
-Tap the ground with your hip and bring back to starting position.

Bottom: Straight leg reverse crunch
-To make this easier you can bend your legs at the knee and raise your hips off of the ground. Here, I am doing the same movement, except I straightened my legs. Straight or bent, feet aren’t to touch the ground.

NOTE: These can be performed virtually anywhere. Make sure to be hydrated and listen to your body when doing in the sauna.

My favorite Number with abs is 25, and I do 4 sets. 100, baby. And obviously I think about donuts the whole time.
