When your hair is a mess but you’re in a good mood. 🙂 Tomorrow is the last day of the meditation challenge I participated in and posted about a while ago. I must admit it took a few days—maybe more than a few to get adjusted to making the time to quiet my mind and focus and actually mediate. I would probably say that is what I am most proud about. My mind freaking wanders!!! Miles a minute. So slowing down and clearing it to focus my intentions in meditation continues to be something I am working on.
My Top 5 FA(Fitness)Q
1. What do you like about working out?
A: I didn’t always. I reluctantly started for aesthetic purposes. Mainly because I wanted a bigger butt. (Haha) but after consistently putting in the work, and seeing the results, I got hooked. What I love most about fitness is the transformational opportunities we are ALL capable of. Mentally and physically. It has taught me discipline, and patience. It’s also a damn good stress reliever if you ask me.
I mean. Really.
I was introduced to Deepak Chopra by a dear friend of mine. They gifted me with one of his books and since then I have added two more to my collection. He’s prophetic. Oprah and himself are the masterminds behind this meditation challenge. I joined, and I wanted to extend the invitation to anyone else that may be interested. It starts Monday, March 16th and lasts for 21 days. The best part ? It’s free.

Alil sauna Ab action.
Top: Bicycle crunches.
-Try to bring your elbow to the opposite knee and alternate.
Middle: Side plank with oblique crunch
-Tap the ground with your hip and bring back to starting position.
Bottom: Straight leg reverse crunch
-To make this easier you can bend your legs at the knee and raise your hips off of the ground. Here, I am doing the same movement, except I straightened my legs. Straight or bent, feet aren’t to touch the ground.
NOTE: These can be performed virtually anywhere. Make sure to be hydrated and listen to your body when doing in the sauna.
My favorite Number with abs is 25, and I do 4 sets. 100, baby. And obviously I think about donuts the whole time.
One of my favorite quotes from The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. He has mastered the art of disguising life lessons with interesting stories full of adventure. Great book. Great writer. Better messages.
Life is constantly blessing us with gifts. We just have to be aware enough to recognize them. This week I was given a gem. This year I’ve made an active effort to volunteer on a consistent basis. I have had the opportunity and pleasure to meet life changing people, an outlet to touch lives, and made memories that I will forever be grateful for. This week aside from giving out lunches as usual, we also gave out blankets. It really felt great to be able to have the opportunity to give the gift of warmth. Aside from that, some of us were able to go on the rooftop and see the shelter’s garden. Continue reading “Rooftops”

“What you seek is seeking you.” -Rumi
I am absolutely enamored with this. Spoken by the great Jimi Hendrix. So simple, yet so complex. This is what the world needs—as a matter of fact, this is what we all need. LOVE.
